The Power of a Higher frequency

Greetings Beautiful Soul,

Welcome to our November newsletter. This month I'm talking about the power of raising our frequency and learning to become an observer to life. Please also scroll down to our retreat that is already starting to get booked, and my holiday hours.

In this month’s newsletter

What if you could experience life differently?

Over the last couple of months, I've been doing a lot more coaching, and it's reminded me of something that I feel is fundamental to our wellbeing and personal growth: learning to shift our state of consciousness, raise our vibration, and become the observer of our lives, rather than being completely caught up in the stress, drama and suffering of our experiences.

Because here's the thing. Life is always going to happen. People will disappoint us, circumstances will change, our bodies will have their challenges, and sometimes we will experience profound grief or uncertainty. We can't always control what happens to us, but we can learn to change the place from which we experience it.

Imagine being able to step back from a difficult situation and see it from a different perspective. Instead of being the actor in the middle of the drama, reacting to every twist and turn, you become the person sitting in the audience, observing what's unfolding. You can still feel, care, love and participate in life, but you are no longer completely consumed by what's happening.

And the interesting thing is that this isn't just an intellectual shift. You can actually feel the difference in your body. There can be a lightness, an expansion, a sense of freedom and even a kind of natural high. (Ever experienced a drug-induced high? Imagine something like that, without the hangover or toxic overload afterwards!)

From this place, things that once felt unbearable can become easier to hold. You might find yourself feeling gratitude in the midst of grief, or even compassion for someone who has hurt you. Not because what happened was okay, or because you have to find a positive meaning in everything, but because you can begin to see a bigger picture. And sometimes, even when you can't see that bigger picture, you can learn to trust that you don't have to understand everything right now.

You don't have to stop feeling your emotions to stop being ruled by them.

For me, this is one of the most exciting aspects of our personal and spiritual development. It's not about escaping life, becoming permanently blissful, or pretending that difficult things don't affect us. It's about developing the capacity to meet life as it is, while having more choice about how we respond.

So, how do we get there?

There are probably as many pathways as there are people, but here are some of the practices that have made a real difference for me:

  • Reflection: Taking time to notice our patterns, our reactions and the stories we tell ourselves.

  • Breathwork: Using the breath to influence our state and create a little more space inside ourselves.

  • Meditation and prayer: Developing the ability to become still, listen and connect with something beyond our everyday thinking.

  • Acceptance: Learning to work with what is actually happening, rather than exhausting ourselves fighting reality.

  • Being with our triggers and emotions: Becoming curious about what gets activated in us, instead of immediately reacting, suppressing or trying to fix it.

  • Embodiment and grounding: Coming back into our bodies, into the present moment, and into a more connected relationship with ourselves.

  • Nervous system regulation: Giving our bodies opportunities to settle, so we have more capacity to respond rather than simply react.

  • Gratitude: Not just writing a list of things we're grateful for, but learning to recognise and genuinely feel the moments of goodness, connection and possibility that exist alongside life's challenges.

And if you've been initiated into Reiki, you have another beautiful tool available to you: giving Reiki to yourself, or sending it when you're unable to be physically present.

None of these practices needs to be complicated. But, as with learning any new way of being in the world, consistency helps. We need opportunities to practice, to notice what's happening inside us, and to gently find our way back when life pulls us into old patterns.

Because becoming the observer isn't something we achieve once and then have sorted forever. It's a capacity we can develop step by step.

Introducing REGULATE

This is why I've created Regulate — a series of short, informal Saturday morning sessions where we can come together to practise some of these skills.

Each 30-minute session will include specific breathing techniques, meditation and simple experiential exercises to help you settle your nervous system, become more aware of your internal state, and begin developing the ability to pause, observe and choose how you respond.

Think of it as a little investment in yourself before the busyness of the day begins. A chance to reset, reconnect with your body, and build some practical tools you can take into everyday life.

My hope is that, over time, these practices will help you navigate life's inevitable ups and downs with a little more space, a little more perspective, and a lot more freedom.

I'd love you to join me! Details are included below.

Workshops

Reiki Level 1

Saturday, 31 Oct & Saturday, 1 Nov (2 sessions) | 10:00am - 5:00pm | 37 Leo Street, Glen Eden

Level 1 introduces the history and principles of Reiki, how to channel high‑vibrational energy through the hands, and how to give Reiki to yourself and others. You learn to sense energy, support your own emotional balance, and create a foundation of inner steadiness. Many people notice life feeling lighter and more aligned after this level.

This is a weekend workshop, it starts on Saturday the 31st of October and concludes on Saturday the 1st of November.

Reiki Level 2

Saturday, 21st Nov & Sunday, 22 Nov | 10:00am - 5:00pm | 37 Leo Street, Glen Eden

Level 2 deepens your relationship with Reiki and introduces the sacred symbols traditionally associated with this level.

We explore ways of working more deeply with Reiki, including supporting emotional and mental wellbeing, developing your intuitive awareness, and working with distance Reiki.

For those who wish to practice professionally, Level 2 also provides an opportunity to deepen your confidence and presence as a practitioner.

This is a weekend workshop on 21st and 22nd November. After finishing, you will be asked to give a minimum of 10 Reiki sessions to other people before you receive your certificate.

Regulate

Weekly nervous-system reset practice

Saturday 7 Nov - 5 Dec (drop in sessions) | 9.30am - 10am | 37 Leo Street, Glen Eden

Your nervous system doesn't learn regulation because someone tells you about it. It learns through repetition.

The research on regulated breathing supports the value of repeated practice rather than one-off exposure.

You don't want to learn these tools for the first time when the shit hits the fan. Come and practise them while you're okay, so they're there when you need them.

Drop in whenever you can. No experience or booking necessary.

Each week we'll explore simple ways to notice what's happening in your body and practice shifting your nervous system towards greater ease — through breath, body awareness, movement, grounding and other practical tools.

No need to book - just show up. And feel free to bring your loved ones, too.

And there's more on the horizon… 🌿

BRINGING BACK THE COLOURS

A retreat to reconnect, explore and simply be.

Something else beautiful is slowly taking shape!

We're creating a special weekend retreat on the outskirts of Auckland, in a beautiful sanctuary surrounded by nature, where you can step away from the demands of everyday life, reconnect with yourself, and spend time with like-minded souls.

This isn't about packing your weekend with activities or giving you another list of things you should be doing. It's about creating space to explore, experience, play, rest and discover what happens when you give yourself permission to simply be.

What might your weekend look like?

🌿 Qi Gong or intuitive movement🌬️ Breathwork practices🧘 Meditation✨ Exploring energy, awareness and healthy boundaries🎨 Arts and crafts💛 Sharing circles and opportunities for connection🎶 Music, dance and games🌸 Plenty of free time to relax, wander, reflect or simply enjoy being in nature.

And of course, there'll be delicious meals, served with care and a little ritual, to make sharing food part of the experience.

The beauty is that you get to choose.

Save the date!

📅 Weekend of 27–28 February 2027

We're still finalising the details and pricing, but spaces will be limited to just 20 people to keep the experience intimate and personal.

If this is calling to you, get in touch now. We are already receiving bookings, and you might just find that this is exactly the kind of weekend you've been needing.

Choose your retreat experience

You don't have to commit to the whole weekend! We've designed the retreat so you can choose the experience that suits you best.

  • Saturday afternoon: 1–6pm

  • Saturday evening: 6–10pm

  • Sunday morning: 8am–1pm

Or combine two sessions for a deeper experience:

  • Saturday afternoon and evening (with or without accommodation)

  • Saturday evening and Sunday morning (with or without accommodation)

  • Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning (with or without accommodation)

  • All three sessions (with or without accommodation)

Whether you join us for a single session or combine two or all three, you'll have the opportunity to explore, connect, recharge and enjoy a little time out from everyday life.
