What makes you come alive?

Greetings Beautiful Soul,

Welcome to our September newsletter. This month I'm sharing a little about my personal journey, where it has taken me and my work, and why some of what I offer may look a little different going forward.

I've also included links to upcoming events and workshops, including the next amazing Healing Sound Bath co-lab with me, Jaz and Robyn.

In this month’s newsletter

What makes you come alive?

Being human is weird.

We work hard so that we can afford the things we want, but then we are too tired to enjoy them. Sometimes we work so hard that our bodies eventually force us to stop.

We get endless advice about what we should eat, but rarely stop to ask why we are eating what we are eating. We count calories, but don't always pay attention to how food actually makes us feel.

We spend hundreds of dollars on skincare and beauty products, often without considering what we are putting on and into our bodies.

We prioritise how we look to other people over how we actually feel within ourselves.

Our attention is constantly being drawn outward, while our inner world remains largely unexplored.

And so we end up spending our lives running on a kind of hamster wheel - working, achieving, consuming, worrying about how we are perceived - without ever really stopping to ask:

Who am I?

Why do I do the things I do?

What actually makes me happy?

What makes me feel alive?

And perhaps most importantly:

Is there more to life than this?

Sometimes, life makes us look inward

As many of you know, I work a lot with people who have experienced trauma.

Trauma has a way of forcing us to look beneath the surface. It can bring us face-to-face with our deepest pain, our patterns, our motivations and the values that have been shaping our lives.

It forces us inward.

That can be incredibly uncomfortable. But over the years, I have come to see this process not simply as something to recover from, but as an opportunity.

A gift, if you like.

Because when we begin to understand ourselves more deeply, we have the possibility of creating a fuller, richer and more conscious life.

We can begin to make choices because they are genuinely right for us, rather than because they are expected of us.

We can learn to enjoy our own company.

We can develop more fulfilling relationships.

We can become more connected to our intuition.

And we can start creating a life that actually feels like ours.

Where my work is going

I have studied for many years with the Art of Living and Oneness India, as well as exploring a wide range of healing and spiritual traditions.

Along the way, I have gathered a rather wonderful collection of tools, practices and perspectives for exploring the inner world and creating meaningful change.

And I'm increasingly interested in sharing these in a way that is less about teaching you what to do and more about helping you discover what is true for you.

So if you're curious about looking inward, understanding yourself more deeply, learning to love your own company, creating more fulfilling relationships, or simply discovering what makes you feel more alive, I'd love to work with you.

This might be through a simple one-on-one exploration or coaching session, or through one of the workshops and events I continue to offer.

You know, when people ask me how I am, they don't always get the traditional:

"I'm good."

They may instead get a ten-minute story about something fascinating I've discovered, explored or completely changed my mind about.

And honestly... isn't that much more interesting?

Workshops

I'm also changing the way I offer my workshops. I will no longer be actively promoting some of my previous workshops that were focused on solving problems, but this doesn't necessarily mean they have disappeared. If there is something you've been interested in, please feel free to contact me — email is usually best carolinepanesar@xtra.co.nz — and ask. Some of my previous offerings may still be available by request.

Reiki Training

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing practice that works with universal life-force energy through the practitioner's hands.

For many people, Reiki creates a profound sense of calm and relaxation. It can support us in slowing down, becoming more present in our bodies and creating space for the nervous system to settle.

I also love Reiki because it is wonderfully simple and accessible.

You don't need to be particularly spiritual, intuitive or experienced in energy work to learn it. It is something you can explore for yourself, use to support the people you love, or eventually incorporate into professional practice.

Reiki training can support:

  • greater calm and relaxation

  • emotional balance and resilience

  • deeper connection with your intuition

  • greater awareness of your own energy

  • a stronger sense of inner guidance

  • a grounded and compassionate way of supporting others

  • a deeper connection with your own sense of purpose.

Reiki is simple, accessible and can be learned by anyone — no prior experience is needed.

There are 3 - 4 levels of Reiki:

Reiki 1 - Self-healing, learning to harness the energy, basic energetic skills like grounding and protection, and healing our connection with the physical body and physical world.

Reiki 2 - Emotional and mental healing, psychic opening, and the level at which you can become a Reiki practitioner. It includes the learning of symbols that help send Reiki through time and space - and turn it on or off. Very useful for energising or cleansing spaces.

Reiki 3A - Spiritual healing, and the level at which Reiki is becoming a part of your everyday life. This also includes a symbol for manifestation and karma clearing. Originally, this used to be part of the Master Teacher level.

Master Teacher - you are now getting ready to teach others. This is an individual journey decided by you and your Reiki Master Teacher.

Progression through the levels is supposed to be organic, but because nowadays many teachers teach mostly through workshops, we sometimes feel that we should be able to do whichever workshop we want when we want it. There is however still much wisdom in only moving to the next level if it feels right - and both you and your Reiki Master Teacher should agree on this.

See below for descriptions of the Reiki workshops I'm facilitating, as well as dates and times.

Please note: I am offering the opportunity to review any workshop at half price if you've completed the level with me before.

Reiki Workshops

Reiki Level 2

Saturday, 21st Nov & Sunday, 22 Nov | 10:00am - 5:00pm | 37 Leo Street, Glen Eden

Level 2 deepens your relationship with Reiki and introduces the sacred symbols traditionally associated with this level.

We explore ways of working more deeply with Reiki, including supporting emotional and mental wellbeing, developing your intuitive awareness, and working with distance Reiki.

For those who wish to practice professionally, Level 2 also provides an opportunity to deepen your confidence and presence as a practitioner.

This is a weekend workshop on 21st and 22nd November. After finishing, you will be asked to give a minimum of 10 Reiki sessions to other people before you receive your certificate.

Reiki Level 3A

Sunday, 13th September | 11:00am - 5.30pm | 37 Leo Street, Glen Eden

The Master Level teaches advanced techniques, the Master (Power) symbol, and how to hold space for transformation — both for yourself and others. It is a profound deepening of your relationship with Reiki and is ideal for those who feel called to embody Reiki as a way of life or to teach and attune others. Many experience this level as a powerful catalyst for clarity, purpose, and ease.

This workshop is carried out in one session, on Sunday 13th of September .

Reiki Level 1

Saturday, 31 Oct & Saturday, 1 Nov (2 sessions) | 10:00am - 5:00pm | 37 Leo Street, Glen Eden

Level 1 introduces the history and principles of Reiki, how to channel high‑vibrational energy through the hands, and how to give Reiki to yourself and others. You learn to sense energy, support your own emotional balance, and create a foundation of inner steadiness. Many people notice life feeling lighter and more aligned after this level.

This is a weekend workshop, it starts on Saturday the 31st of October and concludes on Saturday the 1st of November.

Retreats and events

Seeds of Light Healing Sound Bath

Wed, 23 Sep | 7:00 - 8:30pm | Laingholm Village Hall

Our next Healing Sound Bath is coming up on 23 September, and we are so excited!

With the Spring Equinox as our inspiration, we have aptly named this gathering Seeds of Light.

If you don't know Jaz, you will want to! A very talented healer in many different ways, but most powerfully as a Sound Healer, she creates an incredible and very authentic experience. Robyn, traditionally a healer of the Oversoul, is exploring more and more Sound Healing as well. And I have long resisted my own ability to bring through Angelic codes, but no longer! During this session I will be planting literal seeds of light within your system, creating the potential to hold more light in your physical body.

It promises to be a beautiful evening of sound, connection, healing and possibility.

These events tend to book out quickly, so if you'd like to join us, make sure you register via the link below (NOTE clicking this button will take you to an events page on Humanitix)

Until next time, all my love,

Caroline
