The Awakening of the Higher Heart

Awakening the Higher Heart
Awakening the Higher Heart

We can all feel it: the darkness and heaviness of the world closing in on us.

Those of us who are sensitive, and that is almost all my clients, can feel it very strongly. Not only do they feel it in their own lives, they feel the pain of all of humanity, or a part of it, as their own.

That is why they are here. To feel our, and other people’s suffering, identify it, and transmute it. To alleviate some of the intense pain and trauma that is stuck in our collective memory.

Because make no mistake, no matter what your beliefs are, if one of us is suffering, we are all suffering. Science is finally backing us up in acknowledging that everything and everyone is made of energy, and that this energy creates an invisible connection between us and everything around us.

At the moment, it feels as if we’re all descending into darkness, and if you look at the world around you, this seems to definitely be true.

Falsehood stripped away

However, there is also a different process that is happening simultaneously. Everything that is false is being highlighted and stripped away.

This is happening in the world around us, but equally in our own lives. It’s the process I’ve been writing about in my personal experiences – the unpeeling of the layers of the ego, or identity.

Our identity is what enables us to navigate the world and do the things we do. It’s also created, by us, based on our pain and struggles, and the stories that we made up about ourselves and others. And it’s false.

The creation of our identity starts when we’re very young, and it’s based on a very limited, and self-absorbed, interpretation of events around us. We then start to believe that this is who we are – and that is false. We are not our identity; our identity is like a set of clothes that we wear when we go outside. Underneath it is the real us – pure, unconditional love, peace, and joy.

We need our identity, but just like we need to guide children and not let them take the lead, we can’t let our identity take over either.

Yet that is what most of us do, and are trained to do. And it’s the biggest reason why our world is in the state it’s in – because we view the world, and operate in the world, from our unprocessed pain.

During the rest of this year, this process of peeling back the layers of our personality is going to deepen for many of us, and it’s important to welcome this consciously rather than resist it – resisting it will only bring more pain. Welcoming it in can enable you to see the different aspects of your identity and heal.

What can you do?

The first tool is awareness. As you are reading this you are aware that this is going to happen, so when the SH.T hits the fan, you are prepared.

The second tool is acceptance. Know that this is a process that is for your own good, and that of humanity. Know that you are healing, and that you will feel better soon. Accept the feelings that are part of this, as they are the unprocessed feelings that are still hanging around and making you unwell and unhappy.

The third tool is the understanding that what is happening outside of you is what is happening inside you. How other people are behaving towards you is often how you behave towards you, or how others have behaved towards you in the past. Any unprocessed or misguided feelings and energies will show up as a mirror so you can see what you still need to heal.

For example, if you are telling yourself (subconsciously) that you are not ‘’’ enough, the people around you will make you feel this way. It may be that they think you are not ‘’’ enough, and they may express that indirectly through their actions or directly through their words, and it may be that they don’t think it, but you simply interpret their actions and words that way. If you start to feel this way and get upset, take a moment to become aware that it’s not about them. They are holding up a mirror that shows you where you are not kind to yourself.

The fourth tool is journalling. Write down your thoughts, your feelings, and get it ‘off your chest’. When you do this, you are processing everything, and if you read it back you may be able to see the intricate patterns that are at work in your life.

The fifth tool, which is a Mastery tool, is to become grateful for the situations and people and the feelings that they invoke in you, as they are taking time in their life to make you aware of the pain you have yet to heal.

Unraveling these patterns can be tricky, as they are often a combination of different life experiences. If you want some support, please contact me or book a session here:
