Releasing Trauma Patterns Held in the Body
Somatic Trauma Release is a gentle, body‑based approach to resolving the physiological imprint of trauma. When overwhelming experiences aren’t fully processed, the body holds onto the tension, bracing, and survival responses that were never completed. These patterns can show up as anxiety, shutdown, hyper‑vigilance, emotional reactivity, chronic tension, or a sense of being “stuck” in the past.
This workshop offers a safe, guided way to unwind these patterns through the body. Using somatic techniques such as grounding, breathwork, micro‑movement, shaking, and vagus‑nerve‑supportive practices, you learn how to release stored trauma responses and reset your nervous system. The process is gentle, accessible, and deeply restorative.
This work is not about revisiting traumatic memories. It is about helping the body complete what it could not complete at the time — so you can move forward with more clarity, capacity, and freedom.

How the Unwinding Process Works
Trauma is not just a memory. It is a physiological state. The body communicates through sensation, contraction, expansion, impulses, and movement. When we learn to listen to these signals, the body naturally begins to unwind what it has been holding.
Each session includes:
-
Somatic grounding and safety practices
-
Gentle movement and shaking to release stored activation
-
Breathwork to support regulation
-
Vagus‑nerve‑supportive techniques
-
Embodied awareness to recognise and unwind patterns
-
Integration practices to help the changes settle.
-
People often describe the experience as feeling lighter, clearer, more present, and more themselves.

About your facilitator
Caroline first started working with trauma in London in 1997 after doing specific healing courses for survivors of sexual abuse.
After moving to New Zealand in 2004, she became sought after for trauma-informed bodywork. In 2017, she finished her qualification as a Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist and started to grasp how trauma is released through the body, and by the body.
Able to finally release her own trauma, she is now fast becoming a specialist in stress, anxiety and trauma. She shares her understanding and knowledge in specific workshops in person and online.
She facilitates Embodied Trauma workshops for therapists of all modalities, as well as individuals and leaders who are keen to know how to support the release of trauma.
She also runs trauma-informed workshops specifically for women - women of all ages, dealing with abuse, menopause, divorce, and moving away from narcissistic abuse.
